SPA-INSPIRED RECEPTION SPACE
Andaika Courtois of Andtopia Design envisioned a calm, comfortable, spa-inspired seating area for her client’s Buckhead dermatology office reception space.
Its warm neutral palette of material finishes and practical selections made this space a study in shaped light and detailed styling to honor the design elements’ form and rhythm with tranquil appeal. The set explores the layout and material selections as they came together across the space, including a nod to its use with explicit and implied human presence.
One frame recreates a distinctive moment of late-day sunlight reflected into a portion of the reception space off a distant glass building. It was a fleeting few minutes we encountered during the scout and would not see on shoot day, so we used gelled strobe and modifiers to echo that natural effect.
We closed out the shoot with an environmental portrait of Andaika in the space she proudly delivered for her client.
